1. The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) through the Government of Kenyahas received funds from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") toward the cost of the Improvement of drinking water and sanitation systems in Mombasa – Mwache Project, and it intends to apply part of the funds to payments under the contract for Design, Build and Operate of Mwache Water Treatment Plant(WTP)and associated worksContract No.CWWDA/AFD/PQ/W3/2022-2023. The CWWDA intends to initially select a maximum of five (5)qualified contractors for the Works.

2. The CWWDA, a Parastatal under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation (MWSI), now invites eligible and qualified bidders to apply for prequalification for the works. The description of Works is to Design, Build and Operate the 186,000 m3/day Mwache Water Treatment Plant comprising of the following components:

1. New Water Treatment Plant 
2. Raw Water pumping station 
3. Raw Main Pipes 
4. Clear Water Tank 
5. Adminstration building 
6. Training of the Employer’s staff
7. Operation and maintenance for 24 months (or 36 months)

The Employer may consider phasing the construction of the Water Treatment Plant. 

3.The overall contract implementation period shall be 57 months (or 69 months) including the folllowing phases: 

1. Design, approvals phase – duration shall be 9 months 
2. Construction and commissioning phase – duration shall be 24 months 
3. Operation and maintenance phase – duration shall be 24 months (or 36 months with 12 optional additional months) 

4. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in 2024.

5. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) during working hours (from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Kenyan time) from Monday to Friday except during lunch time (12:30pm – 2:00pm), weekends and public holidays. 1. Pursuant to ITB 7.1 the Client has received request for clarifications and is in process of preparing their responses to be shared with bidders in due course.
2. Pursuant to ITB 8 the client is preparing Amendment No. 1 to the Bid which will be issued in due course.

1. The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) through the Government of Kenya has received financing from the Agence Française de Développement (hereinafter called “AFD”) toward the cost of the “Improvement of Drinking Water and Sanitation Systems in Mombasa - Mwache” and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the “Construction of Water Distribution Pipelines and Sanitation Facilities in Mombasa”, Contract No. CWSB/AFD/W2/2022. 

2. The Coast Water Works Development Agency, a Parastatal under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, now invites sealed Bids from eligible and qualified bidders (Construction Companies) to undertake the works. The Works comprise of construction of the following primary, secondary, and tertiary pipeline mains including requisite appurtenances (air-valves, washout-valves, section-valves, bulk- zonal water meters etc.): 
- Primary and secondary mains (HDPE and Ferrous pipelines of sizes ranging from 110 to 800 mm) – 
81 km 
- Tertiary and service mains (HDPE Pipelines of diameter range 32-90 mm) – 156.6 km 
- Water consumer connections- 6,350 Nr 
- Supply of pipes and fittings for new water consumer connections – 121.3 Km 
- Construction of two (2) ablution blocks. 

3. Bidding will be conducted through the International Procurement Competition (IPC) procedures as specified in the AFD’s Guidelines for the Procurement of AFD-Financed Contracts in Foreign Countries: October 2019 (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.3.3 setting forth the AFD’s policy on conflict of interest.

The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) through the Government of Kenya (GoK) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Water and Sanitation Development Project (WSDP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction Works for the Second Baricho – Kakuyuni Water Supply Project- Lot 1: Second Baricho – Kakuyuni Pipeline, Contract No. KE-CWSB-232660-CW-RFB.

The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA), a Parastatal under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders (Construction Contractors) to undertake the works i.e. Construction works for the Second Baricho – Kakuyuni Water Supply Project- Lot 1: Second Baricho- Kakuyuni Pipeline. The Works include but are not limited to: 
a) Supply installation of 3 No pump sets (Q=820m3/hr, H=70m) within the existing 
pump house and associated electromechanical works 
b) Excavation, supply and laying of 29Km of DN 800mm steel pipeline 
c) Construction of 5,000m3 reservoir at Kakuyuni 
d) Testing and commissioning of pumps, pipeline and reservoir 
The Contract Period will be Twenty Four (24) months following the date of effectiveness 
of the Contract, comprising of Twelve (12) months of Construction Period and Twelve (12) 
months of Defects Liability Period.

3. The estimated input is Thirty-seven (37) staff months consisting of Three (3) staff months for phase I (design stage) and thirty-four (34) staff months for phase II (supervision stage). The assignment will take fifteen (15) calendar months i.e. three (3) months for design stage period, twelve (12) months works construction period and twelve (12) months Defects Notification Period (DNP). An allowance of three (3) calendar months shall be provided for procurement of the works contractor.

4. The CWWDA now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: 

a)  Consulting firm’s background and registration. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years in building structural engineering and or architectural consultancy as a core business,

b)  The consulting firm should have experience in detailed building structural design, detailed Architectural design, preparation of tender documents, preparation of safeguards documents and works supervision of building structures in Kenya for the last five (5) years,
